The Atlas is produced by the NIH Common Fund’s Extracellular RNA Communication (ERC) Consortium and includes 519 small exRNA profiles from eight laboratories. Each profile in the exRNA Atlas acknowledges the contributing laboratory. The profiles were derived from … The exRNA Atlas resource was such a large project; I’m still amazed that coordination was possible just via conference calls and Google docs. For my next steps, I think I have a lot to learn from completing a smaller project with more ownership. ExRNA Atlas - portal for browsing and managing exRNA samples - BRL-BCM/exrna_atlas On Monday and Tuesday April 19–20, 2021, the ERCC will host a free online workshop on exRNA data analysis.

About exRNA Ribonucleic acid (RNA) was once thought to exist in a stable form only inside cells, where it served as an intermediate in the translation from genes to proteins. However, recent research has indicated that RNAs can play a role in a variety of complex cellular functions, including newly discovered mechanisms of cell-to-cell communication.
The new method enabled them to assemble an atlas of human tRNAs for other researchers to use in analyzing their non-coding RNA data. Hydro-tRNA Sequencing Transfer RNAs have thermodynamically stable secondary and tertiary structures, and their constituent nucleotides are highly modified by RNA editing.

It includes exRNA profiles derived from various biofluids and conditions and currently stores data profiled from small RNA sequencing assays and RT-qPCR assays. To learn more about the Atlas, you can read our tutorials : Using the ncRNA Search Bar The exRNA Atlas contains a number of different analysis tools for analyzing Atlas RNA-seq data: XDec, a tool for deconvoluting small RNA-seq data from complex biofluids or fractions to estimate the exRNA expression profiles of constituent cargo profiles as well as the per-sample proportions of each constituent cargo profile.
exRNA Data Coordination Center at the Baylor College of Medicine. To better understand this system, the National Institutes of Health Common Funds Extracellular RNA Communication Consortium, which includes researchers from Baylor College of Medicine, created the exRNA Atlas resource, the first detailed catalog of human exRNAs in bodily fluids. They also developed web-accessible computational tools other NIDA will support a project to develop a Data Management and Resource Repository that will house all of the data generated by these projects, including a public ExRNA Atlas website to serve as a community-wide resource for exRNA research standards, protocols, data, tools and technology. The extracellular RNA processing toolkit (exceRpt) of the NIH Extracellular RNA Communication Consortium (ERCC) is a structured pipeline for analyzing exRNA-seq datasets that has been used to uniformly process all datasets in the exRNA Atlas. exceRpt generates quality control reports and RNA abundance estimates and characterizes mappings to exogenous genomes.
